DIADA NACIONAL DE CATALUNYA

2022. Campaign

September 11th is La Diada, Catalonia’s National Day. The Government of Catalonia, in collaboration with the Graphic Design Association ADG-FAD, organized a portfolio contest.

Our proposal was selected among the finalists and become the poster and campaign to commemorate la Diada 2022. The campaign recovers vernacular typefaces from old placards to pay tribute to annonymous people who fought for civil rights in Catalunya. We redraw a set of letterings based on old banners. On the other hand, the text is a excerpt from a poem of Joana Raspall, writer, linguistic and teacher. We pay tribute to Raspall to celebrate freedom and equality.
